Chris de Mauny is an Associate in our Intellectual Property Group, based in London. Chris specialises in contentious patent matters across a broad range of industries with a focus on life sciences.
Chris has advised on a range of contentious intellectual property matters for both national and international clients from a number of industry sectors including life sciences, electronics, communications, oil and gas, and defence.
Chris is currently working on various contentious life sciences projects. Previous patent cases in the High Court have involved medical devices and pharmaceuticals, exploration technology for oil & gas and fixed-line and mobile telephony technology. Chris has also assisted the preparation of a patent case in the Supreme Court and worked on EPO proceedings.
Chris joined Bird & Bird in 2011 after practising in a set of barristers’ chambers specialising in intellectual property. He was called to the Bar in 2006. He has a Master of Natural Sciences degree from Cambridge University where he specialised in materials science prior to re-training as a lawyer.
In 2018 Chris was named as a "rising IP star" for patent litigation by Managing Intellectual Property.
