Visa Support Letters
If you require a visa to attend Med-Tech, it is essential that you begin the application process as soon as possible in order to obtain your visa in time.
Visa application procedures for entering many countries, and in particular the UK, have become stricter and more complex following terrorist activities, and therefore it can take much longer to process your application than in previous years.
You can find useful information here - https://www.gov.uk/apply-to-come-to-the-uk
Most business visitors will need a Standard Visitor Visa - https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor-visa
You must submit your own application to the relevant authority and follow up accordingly. Med-Tech, is unable to follow up your application on your behalf or enter into direct correspondence with consulates.
A Visa Support Letter will only be issued for speakers and exhibitors who have been invited by Med-Tech or who have paid their exhibition registration fee in full.
Once we have approved the abstract and confirmed a time slot for the proposed Speaker / confirmed receipt of payment from the proposed exhibitor we will need full name, date of birth, nationality, passport number and passport expiry date.
Only then can we issue a Visa Support Letter. The Visa Support Letter will confirm the event’s title, date and location. It will also confirm whether the individual is a speaker or exhibitor.
A Visa Support Letter does not imply any undertaking to provide funding nor act as a financial guarantee for your stay in the UK.
Med-Tech reserves the right not to issue a Visa Support Letter in certain cases even if above conditions have been met. Exhibition Fees will not be refunded in the case of a Visa not being obtained.
International travel is very complex currently as a result of the ongoing pandemic.
The rules and procedures continue to change frequently and as a result we recommend that you refer to government website information both in your country of origin and in the UK.
The UK Government site can be accessed here:
Travelling to the UK from overseas during COVID-19
What colour is my country of origin?
Quarantine & Testing Requirements
Passenger Locator Form
These links explain the required steps for arrivals from all countries into the UK.
There are currently no exemptions for trade show attendees, and no appeal procedure to avoid any of the measure that are required when arriving from amber or red countries.
The latest changes to the situation are positive and are outlined below as it will impact many of our visitors and exhibitors and enable them to plan to attend with confidence.
We are optimistic that further changes will be made soon to assist our exhibitors from other countries, and we advise joining the email alerts system that the website offers to get instant updates when the policies change.
++ UPDATE ++ August 2nd 2021
Passengers who are fully vaccinated in the EU with vaccines authorised by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or in the USA with vaccines authorised by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), or in the Swiss vaccination programme, will be able to travel to England without having to quarantine or take a day 8 test on arrival.

Med-Tech gives us the opportunity to show and discuss the types of services that Boddingtons Plastics can offer to our customers. We've seen really good footfall and had several new leads for new devices. The show has been a great success for us and in fact we've booked for next year already.
MedTech Innovation Expo was a fascinating event that gave us new insight and inspiration into the challenges we face and, more importantly, into the solutions to solve those challenges. We’ve already marked the event on our calendar for next year and we can’t wait to see what progress has been made… and perhaps, more importantly, what progress we can aid with our Aether Engine technology!
It was great to speak at this excellent event, very well attended by the NHS and Industry, well organised and plenty of opportunities for networking. Looking forward to coming again next year!
We’ve managed to get a lot of interest of people... It’s a lot bigger than what we expected, and we’ve managed to find unexpected partnerships with companies we didn’t even know existed. We were here last year but we weren’t exhibiting, and we were impressed with the quality and quantity of exhibitors, so we thought it was worth it this year.
